View, complete, and submit assignments given by your teacher.

Assignments Overview¶

Teachers can assign practice tasks, pieces to learn, and recordings to submit.

Viewing Your Assignments¶

Assignment Dashboard: 1. Go to Dashboard or click "Assignments" in navigation 2. See all active assignments: - Assignment title - Assigned by (teacher name) - Piece or task description - Due date - Status - Priority level

Assignment List Shows: - 🔴 High priority assignments - 📅 Due date (sorted by urgency) - ✅ Completed count - ⏳ Pending count - ⚠️ Overdue warnings

Assignment Filter & Sort¶

Filter by: - Teacher (if you have multiple) - Status (pending, in progress, submitted, graded) - Due date (overdue, this week, this month) - Priority (high, medium, low) - Type (practice, recording, written)

Sort by: - Due date (earliest first) - Date assigned (most recent) - Priority - Status

Click any assignment to see complete details:

Information Included¶

Assignment Overview: - Complete description from teacher - Assigned piece or task - Due date and time - Estimated completion time - Points or grade weight (if applicable)

Requirements: - Which sections to practice - Target tempo (e.g., "Master at 80% tempo") - Required accuracy level (e.g., "95%+ accuracy") - Number of practice sessions needed - Recording required? (Yes/No) - Specific technique focus

Click "Start Practice"
Opens piece in practice player
Assignment goals automatically set:
Target accuracy displayed
Tempo requirement shown
Practice time counted
Practice as directed
System tracks progress toward assignment goals

Recording Submissions¶

When recording required:

Complete practice until ready
Click "Submit Assignment"
Choose submission method:
Record Now: Record directly in app
Upload Recording: Upload existing file
Choose Existing: Select from previous recordings
Record your performance:
Audio only or video (if required)
One continuous take recommended
Can record multiple attempts
Review and select best recording
Add optional notes to teacher
Click "Submit for Review"

Submission Notes: You can include: - Questions for teacher - What you struggled with - What you worked on - Request specific feedback - Note if you need help

Written Assignments¶

Some assignments require written responses: - Music theory questions - Listening analysis - Practice reflection - Goal setting

Submission Process: 1. Click "Complete Assignment" 2. Type or paste your response 3. Attach files if needed 4. Review before submitting 5. Submit when ready

⏳ Pending (Not Started) - Assignment received - Not yet begun - Appears in "To Do" list - Due date shown

🔄 In Progress - You've started working on it - Practice time logged - Not yet submitted - Progress percentage shown

✅ Submitted - Recording/work submitted - Awaiting teacher review - Cannot edit unless returned - Submission timestamp shown

⭐ Graded - Teacher has reviewed - Feedback available - Grade/score given (if applicable) - View teacher comments

⚠️ Overdue - Past due date - Still can submit (unless locked) - May affect grade - Teacher notified

🔁 Revision Needed - Teacher requested resubmission - Feedback provided - Resubmit by new deadline - Original submission visible

Teacher Feedback¶

Receiving Feedback¶

When teacher reviews your assignment:

Notification: - Email notification - In-app notification - Dashboard alert - Push notification (if enabled)

Feedback Includes: - Overall comments - Rating or grade - Audio/video annotations - Specific technique notes - Suggestions for improvement - Praise for what went well

Annotated Recordings: If you submitted a recording: - Teacher can add time-stamped comments - Highlight specific sections - Provide before creating a voice note - Mark areas needing work - Suggest practicing specific measures

Responding to Feedback¶

Review Feedback: 1. Read all teacher comments carefully 2. Listen to annotated sections 3. Note areas for improvement 4. Ask questions if unclear

If Revision Needed: 1. Practice areas teacher highlighted 2. Apply suggested techniques 3. Re-record when ready 4. Submit revision 5. Reference previous feedback

If Completed: - Apply learnings to next assignment - Save feedback for reference - Thank teacher if helpful - Move to next assignment
